BEHAVIOUR:
Students will be encouraged to wear broad-brimmed or bucket hats whenever they are outside and in the pool.
Students will apply sunscreen SPF30+ before lessons.
Students will seek shade while waiting for lessons
Parents/ caregivers will be encouraged to watch lessons from a shaded area during lessons
Students will have regular water rehydration and use reusable water bottles from home.
Staff will act as role models by practicing sun protective behaviors.
Staff will wear UV sunglasses or UV goggles while in lessons as well as students.
Staff will wear UV swimshirt while in lessons as well as students.
COMMUNICATION: Our policy is realistic and achievable.
All Parents will receive a copy of our policy. It will also be included on the website www.swimsam.bm.
Communicate with staff regularly our policy and expectations.
ENVIRONMENT: Aim for adequate shady areas.
Shady breaks for staff will be from 10am to 4pm.
SwimSam will provide sunscreen.

EDUCATION:
Students will play games during lessons that incorporate our Sun Smart message.
